GNS3 1.x no longer officially supports PIX, but if you want to test Cisco PIX, you can do it with gns3 0.8.x (an older version of Gns3).
Then click on Qemu(tab)\PIX and define the follow
Define a valid PIX IOS image, You can download PIX IOS for Gns3 from here. If there is problem with your IOS file in this case when you try to open your console it will disappear. visit http://commonerrors.blogspot.com/2011/05/gns3-router-console-disappear-without.html to solve this issue
..then click on save and apply the setting.
How to Use the Pix firewall in gns3 0.8.x:
GNS3 0.8.x shows this error when have not set any IOS image for PIX, to resolve this problem click on Edit/Preferences..

Preferences-Please configure a PIX |
Type any name e.g. PIX

..then click on save and apply the setting.
Now you can use the PIX in your GNS3 topologies.
